Kickstarter Canceled and Farewell Video

Hey everyone!

We have some good news and bad news.

The Bad News: After 15 days we have decided to cancel the Kickstarter campaign for Dead Crusade. It has not been an easy decision to pull the project from Kickstarter, but we do not see the project getting funded at this point and would prefer to not mislead our fans and backers. A lot of sacrifice and effort went into making this Kickstarter possible, and we would prefer to not drag things out or have the project look bad.

There are a number of reasons we believe the Kickstarter did not succeed, and I wanted to take a moment to explain a few in detail.

“There has never been a game that properly fuses both genres together”, according to Scott Petty, creative director of Aesthetic Games Inc, the makers of Dead Crusade. A game that features a merciless fusion of medieval fantasy and apocalyptic horror.

Let it be said that the story setting, the 14th century Black Death pandemic wiping out 30–60% of Europe’s population – is a perfect setting for horror. Not only do the death-estimates run between 350–375 million people. The Plague’s symptoms are strikingly similar to zombie-like features.

It is a rather obscure observation, and a very exciting one, that the grossness of it all is meticulously well captured due to this game’s technology – thanks to EPIC games.
